Let me know that you're okay and got off the boat.

Yang and I are okay. We've got Zwei with us, and we ended up in... some town? At a house that looks like it belongs to Weiss.
no subject
[Ruby lets out a sigh of relief and smiles widely into the camera.]
Oh thank goodness. I'm glad both of you and Zwei are okay. Tell him I miss him a whole bunch!
...Or get Yang to. I know you both have some issues with one another.
Oh. I remember some people on the ship mentioning a town. That must be it.
I don't think we ended up in the same spot at all.

Where are you two?

[Ruby turns her Fluid to give Blake a better look at the underwater facility Ruby had found herself in. Taking a moment to focus on a sign that said Rapture before pointing at the glass ceiling keeping them contained from the water and see life outside.]
Someplace called Rapture by the looks of it. There are some signs around mentioning a party a couple months ago but I haven't seen anyone native to the place yet.
Gives me a serious case of the creeps.

[ is yang texting from the other room? probably. ]
calling from the next room
Who's the client?
no subject
The first job's from a guy named Shiro. He's down in Rapture, but wanted someone to find for his teammates from Team KLPS: Lance, Pidge, and Keith. I think he might have already found Pidge and I saw a post on the network by Lance so they should be okay there. Looks like Keith might still be missing.
[ there's a brief pause while yang shifts her fluid to her other shoulder and a quiet, 'zwei, i'm working here! we can play after this, promise!' ]
Then the second one's from Amara, she's cool. Like, Ace Ops cool. Anyway, she wanted pictures of the town to see if it's creepy like everyone says since she's underwater, too, and.... [ dumb dramatic pause because she knows the second part will interest her. ] Wanted to know the kinds of tea they've got up here.
no subject
[ this conversation can wait until they're not calling from the living room to the kitchen. ]
no subject
[ yang disconnects the call then rounds the corner with a smile stretching from ear to ear. things are looking up, raining squid non withstanding. there's real, actual work to do instead of quietly worrying over ruby's and weiss's safety and this newfound domesticity with blake is...nice.
yeah, nice. ]
So, what do you think? Not bad for first jobs, right?

Action; no reply; December 24th
action; holiday party - cw for vague references to alcoholism
But it's been...a really trying few months, and it's a nice, harmless way to relax. He's even acquiesced to a silly hat the girls insisted on, and though he finds himself mostly wallflowering awkwardly by the snack table, the atmosphere is cheerful enough to be infectious. He watches Ruby accosting various partygoers to vote for her costume and he watches Yang dance with Blake to a fast song and then a slow one, and it feels for the first time in a long time like it might be okay to just stop and rest. Everything in Remnant is up in the air, but for a moment it's safe and warm and everyone is happy, and it's a nice fantasy to indulge that they could build a life here instead.
His little reverie of sorts is interrupted by the familiar sound of minor crashes nearby; someone trips over the hem of their dress, knocking into someone else so they drop what they're holding and bringing yet a third person to pivot reflexively....right into Blake and whatever ill-fated beverage she happened to be drinking, which goes all over the floor with a splash.
There is a distinct moment when Qrow sighs, turning to grab a fistful of napkins and kneeling to start mopping up the mess. It's more his fault than Blake's, after all.]
Sorry. I'll get you a new one.
[So much for avoiding the bar, but--it's fine. It'll be fine.]
no subject
then, her umetini goes flying, and that's... kind of irritating. but honestly, seeing qrow go to the trouble to try to make it right does a lot to counteract her annoyance over it. accidents happen, regardless of whether background activity from a semblance causes the spark.
blake hasn't exactly talked to qrow very much since she arrived back in town; there have been other things to attend to. still, if ruby and yang are family, if she sees any kind of future with yang...
then the others in their family are part of the deal, too. ]
It's fine, Qrow. And... I don't think that's a good idea. I'll handle it.
no subject
Of the kids he's been traveling with for all these past months, she probably has the least reason to have faith in him. So really, he should just let it go. It's not a big deal.
At the same time, it's embarrassing, and he doesn't like the idea of ... well, of yang, honestly, thinking that truly so little had changed by now that he couldn't handle this much. It would feel too much like an admission of failure.]
I'm fine, really. It's been awhile for me, now.
[He sounds more confident than he entirely is, almost a thin thread of defensiveness in it. His hands are quickly shoved into his pockets to hide any trace of a tremor to them.]
no subject
it's somewhat clear qrow is fronting a little, but... maybe not entirely. she doubts he's looking for an excuse to go over to the bar, and maybe learning to trust himself around the stuff isn't the worst idea. who can say. ]
Then... thanks. If you're sure. [ she relents, finally. it might be best to just let him. ] It's seven parts umeshu, three parts gin, and a little cranberry juice.

If she shall wake me up at midnight with the notif, I will return the favor.
Apparently, Happy Birthday is in order.
1/19 a little bit after midnight
Hope things are going okay.
(Yang told me. I called her gay for you, don't worry about it.)
no subject
things are... you know how it is, here. but it could be a lot worse. and thanks, glad you've got that covered

I hope you two are getting some good time together to relax. I know looking gift horses in the mouth is generally a bad idea, but, like. They usually only treat us this nice if something big's coming.
What goes up...
no subject
there's always a catch, always another shoe about to drop. but that's not news
it's been nice for us. even if things are about to go bad, it might be worth it for these past two weeks
how are things going for you?

what about?

Well Ruby's school is having a dance and they need a few chaperones
I was going to volunteer for it. Dressing up and getting out for the night'll be fun
Might be a lot more fun if there was someone else with me. Like in a date capacity

[what's woken her this time, though, is the dream of fire. the embers that could never stop smoldering. how could they when it's barely been a handful of weeks? why wouldn't visions of cinder come to her in her darkest moments and remind her of how much of a disappointment she is? how badly she's failed her?]
[she's upstairs in a room with oscar; no one else seems to be willing to sleep around her. he's still sleeping, she can see in the blue glow. it's not clear why her fingers trail to blake belladonna's name, still on her scroll from their days at beacon. maybe she just wants to talk to someone she's sure will hate her, so at least she can focus on that instead of cinder. a new nightmare.]
Hey. You up down there?
Looking for someone to talk to after some shitty dreams.
It's Emerald, by the way.
